  • August 2018 – July 2019 – Research Associate, NIAS-UNDP Program, National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru

Research Interest

  • My current research examines agrarian transformations through the lens of agrarian political economy and development economics, engaging with the new agrarian question in developing economies. I explore how state policies, technological advancements, globalization, and agrarian extractivism reshape rural agriculture. These changes manifest in shifts in land use, increasing land ownership concentration, smallholder displacement, and broader implications for rural livelihoods and food security.
  • In addition to analyzing these structural transformations, my work focuses on the political economy of development, agricultural commercialization, and livelihood sustainability. I investigate the impact of market integration, financialization, and policy reforms on smallholder resilience, inequality, and sustainable development.
  • Furthermore, I seek to integrate heterodox economic approaches to critically assess dominant paradigms, offering alternative perspectives on agrarian change, rural development, and sustainability.
