Chief Guest
Prof. Siva Umapathy is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of laser spectroscopy-based technology. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry and the Department of Instrumentation and Applied Physics at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. He is well acclaimed for his studies of molecular dynamics using Raman spectroscopy and has specific research experience in chemistry, materials and physics supported by the breadth of knowledge in biology, biomedical research areas, computational methods and modelling in general. Prof. Umapathy is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, an elected fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Science of India and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.

- Objective / Motivation slide: What are the objectives of this work that you're presenting? / for undergraduates, what motivated you to address this topic/problem?
- Review of literature slide: What has been done so far by peer groups in scientific literature, and how is your work different from what has been done before?
- Research / Idea: Explain your research with adequate methodologies, results or idea on how you will find a solution.
- Conclusion: What is your key finding out of your research/idea? What are the ways this idea/ research could be carried forward? How do you plan to do it?
- There will be three judges who will evaluate your work and presentation. Winners will be announced on the Research Day Event (February 19, 2022).
