Internships

Gain real-world experience with global internships.

At SRM University-AP, international internships form a vital component of our globally attuned academic ecosystem. The International Internship Program is designed to empower students with the unique opportunity to pursue academic aspirations and personal growth through impactful research and professional engagements across the world.

These immersive experiences are carefully structured to place students within reputed global institutions, research centers, and industry organizations for a defined period. Participants engage in real-world problem solving, project-based assignments, and interdisciplinary collaboration—enhancing both their academic depth and cultural intelligence.
International internships serve as transformative platforms for career development, offering practical exposure aligned with a student’s chosen discipline. These short-term, supervised placements are meticulously curated, often with a clear focus on project outcomes, timelines, and skill application. Depending on the nature of the placement and host institution, internships may be fully funded, partially compensated, or offered on a voluntary basis.
Through these prestigious engagements, SRM AP nurtures a new generation of global leaders, innovators, and scholars—prepared to thrive in an interconnected world.
The process for securing an international internship through SRM University-AP is guided by a structured and collaborative approach, ensuring academic rigor and professional relevance.

1. Initiation of Request

The Directorate of International Relations & Higher Studies (IRHS) initiates formal communication with reputed industries, research institutions, and global organizations by sending a request letter or email. This correspondence outlines the proposed internship periods—typically 4 to 6 weeks during the summer vacation—and seeks confirmation of available slots for student placements.

2. Student Profile Submission

Interested students may submit their request letters, detailed profiles, and areas of interest to IRHS. These documents are shared with prospective host organizations to facilitate the shortlisting process based on alignment with project requirements.

3. Confirmation of Internship Slots

Host organizations respond with a formal confirmation letter or email, specifying the number of positions offered and the internship duration. In instances where students independently secure internship opportunities, they are required to submit the official confirmation directly to IRHS through their respective academic departments.

4. Allocation of Internship Positions

Based on the confirmed availability of slots, IRHS allocates students to the respective organizations, ensuring appropriate academic and professional matches.

5. Joining Formalities

Upon commencement of the internship, students must submit a formal Joining Report, Acceptance Letter, or confirmation email from the host organization to IRHS.

6. Mid-Term Evaluation

During the internship, faculty members will assess student progress through one or two performance evaluations. These evaluations may include virtual or onsite presentations, feedback from the host organization, and submission of a formal Evaluation Report, duly signed by the supervising industry personnel.

7. Completion & Reporting

After the successful completion of the internship, students are required to submit a comprehensive Internship Report along with the official Training Certificate issued by the host organization.

This streamlined and professionally monitored process ensures that students receive high-quality, globally recognized internship experiences that significantly contribute to their academic and career development.
To be eligible for the International Internship Program, students must meet the following criteria:
These requirements ensure that participants are academically prepared and capable of making the most of their international internship experience.
